Learn How to do EFT
Quick and Easy
It is quick and easy to learn EFT. The tapping points and the procedure to
follow are detailed below. Simply follow the 3 step guide and you will soon
be benefitting from EFT.
3 Step process - ACT - Assess, Create and Tap!
Assess
Firstly, you need to decide what you would like EFT to help you with. Score
the current intensity of your problem on a scale of 0 - 10 (with 0 being no
intensity and 10 being maximum intensity). This gives you feedback of how
you are helping overcome the problem. If you can't put a number on it, try
using your hands as a guide - like a fisherman showing the size of his catch.
Hands close together for low intensity or far apart for maximum intensity.
This is a great way of working with children too.
Create
You need to create your 'setup' phrase to tune you into the problem. The
best results usually come from being as specific as possible. So
if you want to work on your anger at your boss, instead of saying 'this anger'
it is better to say 'this anger I have at my boss for dumping this extra work
on me'. It tunes us in much better to the problem at hand.
The 'setup' phrase looks like this:
"Even though I have {this problem} I deeply and completely accept myself" or
"Even though I feel {this feeling} I deeply and completely accept myself"
Using the anger example:
"Even though I feel angry at my boss for dumping this extra work on me, I deeply and completely accept myself".
The reminder phrase is the summary of the problem. In the example here it will be "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
Tap
Ok, so now you start the tapping! Tap on the Karate chop point or
rub the sore spots continuously whilst emphatically repeating your
setup phrase 3 times out loud. That is you need to do this with feeling
and effort (so that your brain accepts this statement).
Karate Chop
This is on the side of your hand (either one) in between the base of your
baby finger and the wrist (where you would do a karate chop). It is here:

Sore Spot
The sore spots are located on the upper chest, rub around until you feel
an area that is slightly indented and feels tender to touch. Rub this spot
gently - it shouldn't hurt!
Now tap about 7 times on each of the meridian points in turn whilst repeating your reminder phrase out loud.
The meridian points are located here:

EB = Eyebrow (beginning of the eyebrows)
SE = Side of Eye (on the orbital bone)
UE = Under Eye (on the bone, in line with your pupil - eyes looking straight
ahead)
UN = Under Nose
CH = Chin (under lip, in indentation)
CB = Collarbone (just under collarbone point)
UA = Under Arm (about 4" under armpit, mid bra-strap for women)
CR = Crown of head (towards back of head)
KC = Karate Chop (side of hand on fleshy part)

Start with the eyebrow point (EB) and finish at the crown of the head (CR). Tap each spot about 7 times, or long enough to repeat your reminder phrase. Tap gently on each spot, so that you can hear the tapping and make sure it doesn't hurt!
Example
EB: "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
SE: "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
UE: "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
UN: "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
etc to...
CR: "anger at my boss for dumping this extra work on me"
Breathe and Re-assess
Now take a deep breath and re-assess your score. Repeat the round of doing
the setup phrase followed by tapping on all the points, until your score is
down to 1 or 0. Adjust the setup and reminder phrases as you progress - i.e.
Even thought I still have {this problem} I deeply and completely
accept myself and 'remaining problem'. Example: "Even
though I still have this anger at my boss for dumping extra work on me"...and
"Remaining anger at my boss for dumping extra work on me"
Aspects
Imagine that your problem is like a jigsaw puzzle. You need to work on each
piece of the jigsaw puzzle (aspect) until all the pieces have been dealt with.
For example, another aspect of the example of anger at your boss, may be that
you feel guilty for having to work late or you feel frustrated that your colleague
hasn't done something to help. Each of these different aspects can then be
tapped on following the ACT process above. When each aspect of the problem
has been tapped on until the score is zero then you should be feeling much
better and the problem should be fully resolved.
Testing
This is an important part - you need to test your results. Vividly imagine
the problem and note how you feel about it. If you still feel something then
you have more tapping to do! If you can't feel anything about your problem
then you're probably done. The real test comes when you face your problem
e.g. you see your boss. If there is some feeling that comes up when you test
for real, then you again have more tapping to do. You might not have addressed
all of the aspects.
Keep tapping and be persistent - you will get there!
Refresh Yourself
Please drink some water after doing this - your brain will be working quite
hard to adjust & it'll need re-fuelling.
Reactions
You may find that you feel quite tired or sleepy after tapping - this is normal
and a sign your body & brain are adjusting. You may yawn a lot - this
is a sign your brain is needing extra oxygen and again quite normal. You may
also feel energy flowing around your body as tingling sensations. This is
another typical reaction. Just be aware of what is going on for you as your
energy system makes it's adjustments. Please listen to your body and rest
if you feel you need to.
